Kennel Lead Application
The Kennel Lead plays a key role in keeping Ruff-N-It running safely and smoothly.
This is a hands-on, shift-level leadership role focused on supporting the kennel team during daily operations and helping ensure the safety and well-being of every dog in our care.
Kennel Leads must have prior animal care experience and be comfortable stepping into a leadership role in a fast-paced environment.
This position requires flexibility, including availability on a rotating schedule for weekends and holidays, as well as the ability to adjust hours or stay late when operational needs arise.
What You’ll Be Doing:

- Leading kennel operations for your shift
- Monitoring dog group play, behavior, and overall safety
- Assigning tasks and ensuring cleaning & care completed correctly
- Preparing food and medications according to instructions
- Assisting with check-ins, check-outs, and communication with the front office
- Observing pets for health or behavior concerns and reporting issues promptly
- Prior experience working with dogs in a kennel, daycare, or boarding environment
- Strong leadership skills with a calm, confident presence
- Ability to make sound decisions quickly and safely
- Reliable, punctual, and highly responsible
- Comfortable giving direction and feedback to team members
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Physically able to handle a fast-paced, hands-on role
- Passion for animal care and safety
